Hey, Dak.
College coming up soon? Do you have a major yet? I'm doing great, just working as usual.

Hey, Dak, long time no see.
Work's good -- funny about the English & creative writing; I'm considering going to college for an English degree, myself. That or another of a couple things I'm thinking about. Computers, business, something interesting. :-)

I was just wondering the same thing... I'm waiting for more people to write related randomness..
Who gave him caffiene? That seems an irresponsible act. The perpetrator shall be hunted down and their work burned in effigy!!

You just think that.
Hey, Everyone!
So, I've finally created anemoneflynn.com, which is my personal fiction / poetry, etc. site. I will be moving / copying most of my work over there in the coming months.
I'm not abandoning WrittenBy - far from it. In my own mind, I see this as rather the next step in the 'evolution' of the idea.
There are several ways I can both attach my site to this, and help anyone who wants create a blog-type site for themselves.
First, though, here are the reasons that stand out most in my mind for changing the format of WrittenBy:
- comments on posts, not as part of the thread
- the ability to subscribe via email or an rss feed to updates on the site, and no need to check back
I would like to propose that Written By Trial and Error, while remaining in its forum state for now, also become a sort of membership which blogs can join. For example, we would list / link to member blogs, and they could have a badge of sorts to display on their front site.
As far as attaching my site to this under my name, and helping anyone who wants to create a blog format for their own work: Because I am 'in charge' of the hosting and development of this site, I have access to all the background. It would be very easy for me to create places such as 'http://anemoneflynn.writtenbytrialanderror.info' You have probably seen this model in places such as blogspot.com, etc. I have no desire to become that large or crazy! What I mean is, I can create a blog just like mine under any of those subdomains. I believe the forums have not lost their usefulness - they are at least still great for joint stories.
What do the rest of you think? I am happy to discuss it here, or we can have an open Skype session or something like that. My goal is not to suddenly take control of and change WrittenBy - rather, I want to help it to its full potential.

I should have also said: if you want a custom domain, like anemoneflynn.com, that can also just stand alone (and doesn't require typing for a year like anemoneflynn.writtenbytrialanderror.blogspot.com), then I am more than happy to help you with that. I don't have any kind of hosting costs established for that type of thing - I'll have to talk to GloriousSwain and see what he thinks. To purchase a domain, though is about $10 for the year. I can either purchase it for you, and build it, etc., or I would be happy to help with one that you've purchased yourself.
Food for thought.
